Personal Monologue

about

This is a song I wrote a few years back. This was almost a statement piece that had just came out of me.
The day I wrote this song, I was sleeping in a public bathroom in the middle of Herald Square (34th Street) one night. A man had banged heavily on the door I fixed closed shut to get a few hours. He had been banging trying to get in. "I gotta shoot this dope, man. I'm sick cmon man." was what I heard outside. In that sudden jolt, I quickly wrote down these words. The one part of the song which was later written was about Maya Angelou But other than that, the song uniquely screamed at me the same time when this man was in a desperate plea.
I hope that this guy in mention is ok. I never really introduced myself. He looked quite awful, but I did too. I remember the rain seeping in my bag and clothes. But I just remember this song and holding on to the pieces of paper in my journal holding the first draft.

Here is just a straight guitar and vocal recording. Ive played this song with my band mates back in New York, but we never made an official recording.
What are your thoughts? Can you hear a drummer playing or some bass riffs?
I'm hoping sooner than later once I get stable that I can record a better album.
That would really be the dream for me.

lyrics

The words are rendered meaningless when letters can't make common sense

We find ourselves empty when our attachment becomes a big expense

My mouth is dry of the river
Of creativity to express my love

And I can't retain the rhythm
Of unconsciousness that is given
From up above

And yet I
Want to
Sail with you as your first mate
Shit, I'll Wear a bowtie on our first date.
But thats if polished shoes and a warm smile is still something to appreciate

I've put together puzzles
And solved mysteries
Before the crimes

I've attempted to set records
Of how much I can waste my own
time

I made many laugh with out a joke
And I've shedded tears on the most somber dreams

I made a kill without a weapon
I write a song that just for you too see

I swear to god when I say that Ohio is for lovers where I'm from
and illinois and Indiana
You know there are parts that we still don't know about.

And Maya Angelou is a godsend
Because she taught us all why the cage bird sings
To me the world revolves on a fixed chord
and each content represents a different string.

Ohhh
And yet I
Want to
Sail with you as your first mate
Shit, I'll Wear a bowtie on our first date.
But thats if polished shoes and a warm smile is still something to appreciate.
