A Christmas A-cappella

by Marcus Jade

/
1.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on our troubles Will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the Yuletide gay From now on our troubles Will be miles away, oh ooh Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore, ah Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us, once more, ooh Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bough And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say "Rudolph, with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Then how the reindeer loved him As they shouted out with glee "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer You'll go down in history" Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say "Rudolph, with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Silver bells, silver bells It's Christmas time in the city Ring-a-ling, hear them ring Soon it will be Christmas day City sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style In the air there's a feeling of Christmas Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile And on every street corner you'll hear, you can hear Silver bells, silver bells, silver bells, silver bells It's Christmas time in the city Ring-a-ling, ring-a-ling, hear them sing, hear them sing Soon it will be Christmas day Strings of streetlights even stop lights blink a bright red and green As the shoppers rush home with their treasures Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch, this is Santa's big scene And above all this bustle you'll hear, you can hear

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, snow is glistening A beautiful sight We're happy tonight Walking in a winter wonderland Gone away is the bluebird Here to stay is a new bird To sing a love song While we stroll along Walking in a winter wonderland In the meadow, we can build a snowman We'll pretend that he is Parson Brown He'll say, are you married? We'll say, no man But you can do the job when you're in town Later on, we'll conspire As we dream by the fire To face unafraid The plans that we've made Walking in a winter wonderland In the meadow we can build a snowman We'll pretend that he is Parson Brown He'll say, are you ready? We'll say, no man But you can do the job when you're in town Later on, we'll conspire As we dream by the fire To face unafraid The plans that we've made Walking in a winter wonderland Walking in a winter wonderland Walking in a winter wonderland

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire Jack Frost nipping at your nose Yuletide carols being sung by a choir And folks dressed up like Eskimos Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe Will help to make the season bright Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow Will find it hard to sleep tonight They know that Santa's on his way He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh And every mother's child is gonna spy To see reindeer really know how to fly So, I'm offering this simple phrase To kids from one to ninety-two Although it's been said many times, many ways Merry Christmas to you

Artist Bio:
Marcus Jade is a blues musician, songwriter, and poet. Born in Indiana, he began learning guitar at age 14. Around that time, he was also drawn into Indianapolis’s eclectic DIY art and music scene, before settling into his own unique style of ragged, heart-wrenching blues-folk. Within the last two years he has performed and organized over a hundred shows in a variety of venues, basement shows, rooftop, and living rooms. Blending in my eclectic taste in music, fused with his love for blues music, Jade sings for the lonely and the lost, the furious and the eternal. His music is medicine for the wandering mind, redemption songs for our modern times, and his live shows are utterly transportive, almost mystical in their power and cleansing in their emotional reach
